JOpt.FieldService is a J2EE component out of the comprehensive set of JOpt tools. It uses specialized genetic algorithms to calculate an optimized allocation of your service jobs to your technicians. The algorithms provides an optimized succession of the service points considering a set of different constraints.

The algorithm not only provides tours at minimum costs but also considers an arbitrary set of constraints for each tour. The constraints are easily modifiable so that individual business processes can be represented. Define your own constraints and optimization goals in order to customize JOpt.FieldService to your specific planning requirements.

In particular, JOpt.FieldService can solve nearly any problem that can be classified by one of the follwing types:

You can access JOpt functionality either via webservices hosted on DNA servers or you retrieve and deploy a copy of the JOpt J2EE component into a J2EE compliant application server of your choice.

JOpt.FieldService can be deployed into any J2EE compliant application server, such as Oracle AS (recommended), JBoss, Websphere, Netweaver or Weblogic. These standards ensure the inherent use of persistent data management, load balancing and runtime performance optimization.
