JOpt.Transportation

JOpt.Transportation is the enhancement kit for the J2EE components JOpt.J2EE and JOpt.SDK. This kit adds all application knowledge for transportation optimization to the JOpt components. This tool is suitable for all users who want to use the JOpt optimization tools for typical dispatch tasks like tour generation and optimization. JOpt.Transportation together with JOpt.J2EE or JOpt.SDK use specialized genetic algorithms to calculate optimized allocations of given deliveries to a set of vehicles. The optimization algorithm tailored for the specific case of transportation not only calculates the tours at minimum costs but also considers those constraints typical for transportation jobs. The optimization constraints and their weights as introduced by this enhancement kit are still adaptable to individual transportation processes.

JOpt.Transportation can solve nearly any problem that can be classified as VRPTW - Vehicle routing problem with time windows - the Travelling Salesman Problem for more than one vehicle considering arrival and loading time constraints at the tour stops, starting from and returning to different depots. JOpt.Transportation also considers vehicle load capacities and working times.

JOpt.Transportation enhances the basic functionalty of either JOpt.SDK or JOpt.J2EE. These basic components will provide the optimization framework. At least one of the two base products is necessary to run the JOpt.Transportation enhancement kit. In addition, the base products ensure that the planning solution can be integrated into any application which will lead to the look and feel of one piece of software for your entire software application. Use the standard ERP-plugs to connect your to ERP-software such as SAP. Please refer to JOpt.SDK or JOpt.J2EE for further information.
